Srikalahasti Temple (Srikalahasteeswara): Where to Stay

Most pilgrims stay in Tirupati (approx 36 km), which has the widest range of hotels and TTD lodges, and day-trip to Srikalahasti; this pairs naturally with Tirumala darshan. In the temple town itself there are AP tourism (APTDC/Haritha) and Devasthanam guest houses plus budget lodges near the bus stand and railway station, only a short auto ride from the gopuram. Standards there are simple and functional. On Shivaratri and eclipse days rooms fill fast, so book ahead or plan an early-morning day trip from Tirupati.

Because Srikalahasti is so close to Tirupati, many pilgrims never book a room in the town at all: they base themselves in Tirupati, about 36 km away, where the choice of hotels and TTD accommodation is far wider, and make Srikalahasti a half-day trip. This works well if you are already doing Tirumala darshan.

In Srikalahasti itself the options are more modest but adequate. There are AP tourism and Devasthanam guest houses, plus a cluster of budget lodges and dharamshala-style stays near the bus stand and the railway station, which is only a short auto ride from the temple. Standards are simple and functional rather than plush. On Maha Shivaratri, Karthika weekends and eclipse days, rooms in both Srikalahasti and Tirupati fill quickly, so reserve well ahead or plan an early-morning day trip from Tirupati and return the same night.
