Shani Shingnapur (Shri Shaneshwar Devasthan): Nearby Temples & Tirths

Shani Shingnapur: Nearby Temples & TirthsShani Shingnapur sits within reach of Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga, Trimbakeshwar, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Shani Shingnapur sits in one of Maharashtra's richest pilgrim belts, which is why almost no one visits it alone. The single most common pairing is Shirdi (approx 74 km), the samadhi shrine of Sai Baba, and the two are routinely done on the same trip; a great many Shani Shingnapur visitors are Shirdi pilgrims making the side journey.

Push a little further and the Jyotirlinga circuit opens up. Grishneshwar (approx 90 km), the twelfth Jyotirlinga, stands right beside the Ellora caves near Aurangabad, letting you combine a major Shiva shrine with world-heritage rock-cut temples in one leg. Trimbakeshwar (approx 110 km) near Nashik, the Jyotirlinga at the source of the Godavari, is the other big draw within reach.

Because the region is so well linked by road, many pilgrims build a two or three day loop: Shirdi and Shani Shingnapur together, then Grishneshwar and Ellora, or a swing toward Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. Distances above are approximate road figures, so plan drive times generously around festival crowds.
