Chotila's fame is partly geographic: the hill rises straight off the busiest artery in Saurashtra, the old Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway, so lakhs of travellers pass its base every year and stop for a quick darshan. If you are self-driving or on a bus between Ahmedabad and Rajkot, the shrine is essentially on the way, with the conical hill and temple visible long before you arrive. Buses on this route, both state-run and private, halt at Chotila regularly, making it one of the easiest big temples in Gujarat to reach without planning.
Rail is the weaker link. No major passenger line runs through Chotila town itself.
