Khodaldham Temple, Kagvad: Dress Code & Temple Rules

  • Wear modest, traditional clothing; cover shoulders and knees out of respect at this Shakti shrine.
  • Remove footwear before entering the sanctum area; footwear stands are provided.
  • Photography is generally allowed on the campus but avoid flash and follow any no-photography signs inside the garbhagriha.
  • Maintain silence and queue discipline during aarti, when crowds swell.
  • Carry minimal bags; large luggage and prohibited items may be checked at security.

As a living Shakti shrine that draws large family gatherings, Khodaldham expects respectful, modest dress. Traditional Indian wear is ideal; if you are in Western clothes, keep shoulders and knees covered. Footwear comes off before you approach the sanctum, and stands are available to leave shoes.

Security checks are routine given the footfall, so travel light and expect bags to be screened. Photography is usually fine across the sprawling campus and gardens, but avoid flash near the deity and respect any no-photography signage inside the garbhagriha. During aarti, keep phones away, maintain silence and follow the queue marshals.
