Tulsishyam slots naturally into the Somnath-Gir pilgrimage belt of Saurashtra, so few people come only for it. The obvious pairing is Somnath, about 70 km away, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas standing right on the Arabian Sea; a Tulsishyam morning and a Somnath evening aarti make a full, moving day.
Right beside Somnath is Bhalka Tirth (about 72 km), the spot where tradition says Krishna was struck by the hunter's arrow and left his earthly body, which resonates deeply with Tulsishyam's own Krishna dedication. Together the two give you a Krishna arc from the forest shrine to the place of his departure.
For a bigger undertaking, Girnar (about 120 km) rises above Junagadh with its thousands of stone steps and cluster of Hindu and Jain shrines. It is a serious day of its own, but for pilgrims already touring the region it completes a rich Saurashtra circuit alongside the Gir lions.
