How to reach Virpur Jalaram Bapa Temple
Virpur sits in the Saurashtra interior on the Rajkot to Junagadh axis. The town has its own small railway station within walking distance of the shrine, but most pilgrims route through Rajkot, which has the region's main junction and airport. State Transport (GSRTC) buses and shared taxis run frequently from Rajkot, Gondal and Junagadh.

Dress code & temple rules
Dress modestly and traditionally; cover shoulders and knees, as at any active Hindu shrine
Remove footwear before entering the sanctum area
Most importantly, do NOT try to donate money, gold or gifts: the trust has refused all offerings since 9 February 2000 and there is no hundi or donation box
Accept the free khichdi-kadhi prasad respectfully; it is offered to every visitor regardless of background
Follow staff instructions on photography inside the inner sanctum, where filming the deities and relics is generally restricted
Maintain queue discipline during Jalaram Jayanti and Thursdays, when crowds swell

Best time to visit & festivals
The cool, dry October-to-February window is the most comfortable time to visit Saurashtra and coincides with the temple's biggest celebration. Thursdays carry special significance for Jalaram devotees and draw larger weekday crowds. Summers (April to June) are hot and dry; the monsoon (July to September) is green but humid, though the shrine stays open year-round.

The Jalaram temple trust runs its own free dharamshala for pilgrims, in keeping with the shrine's giving ethos, so most devotees stay right in Virpur at no cost. Budget hotels and lodges in town (for example the often-cited Hotel Madhav) offer simple paid rooms for those who prefer them. For more choice, comfort and connectivity, base yourself in Rajkot (about 55 to 60 km away), which has a full range of hotels, or break the journey at Gondal or Junagadh. Book ahead around Jalaram Jayanti in November, when the town fills to capacity.
