Konark: How to ReachKonark sits on the coastal road between Puri and Bhubaneswar, so most pilgrims fold it into a Puri Jagannath trip. The nearest railway station is Puri railway station (approx 35 km).

There is no railway station or airport in Konark, so every arrival is the last leg by road. The two gateways are Puri (about 35 km) and Bhubaneswar (about 65 km). Puri is the nearer and more atmospheric approach: the Marine Drive coastal highway runs beside the Bay of Bengal for roughly an hour, and buses, shared autos and taxis all ply the route. Most pilgrims reach Konark as a half-day trip out of Puri after Jagannath darshan.

If you are coming from farther afield, aim for Bhubaneswar. Its railway station is a major junction with long-distance trains, and Biju Patnaik International Airport (about 65 km from Konark, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by road) is the nearest airport, with flights to the main Indian metros. Taxis and Odisha Tourism coaches connect Bhubaneswar to Konark directly, often on a Bhubaneswar-Konark-Puri loop.

A practical tip: chaining the three points on the classic golden-triangle circuit (Bhubaneswar temples, Konark, Puri Jagannath) is the most efficient way to see the region. Hire a car for the day if you want to catch Konark at sunrise and still reach Puri or Bhubaneswar comfortably by evening.
