Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Sankat Mochan Hanuman: Nearby Temples & TirthsSankat Mochan Hanuman sits within reach of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kaal Bhairav Temple, Vindhyavasini Devi, Mirzapur, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Sankat Mochan pairs naturally with Varanasi's core pilgrimage circuit. The obvious first stop is Kashi Vishwanath, the Jyotirlinga at the spiritual heart of the city, about 5 to 6 km north near the ghats; most pilgrims do both on the same trip. Kaal Bhairav, the fierce guardian deity of Kashi whose blessing devotees traditionally seek to move freely in the city, lies roughly 7 km away and rounds out the classic in-city trio.

For an onward journey, Vindhyavasini Devi at Mirzapur, a revered Shakti shrine on the Ganga about 65 km off, is a common day trip or extension from Varanasi and gives the itinerary a Devi dimension alongside the Shiva and Hanuman shrines of the city.

All three are chosen for genuine proximity and pilgrim logic rather than filler. Distances are approx and depend on traffic and your starting ghat; the two in-city temples are easy to combine in one day, while Mirzapur needs a half-day of its own.
