The ritual day begins around 4:30 AM with Suprabhatam as the shrine is woken, followed by early abhishekams. The pre-booked Sparsha Darshan window, when devotees are allowed to touch the Jyotirlinga, generally falls in the early hours around 5:00 to 7:00 AM, and a collective Samuhika Abhishekam is offered around 6:30 AM. These early sevas are the heart of a serious pilgrim's visit and almost all require advance online booking with matching ID.
The midday high point is the Maha Nivedana and Mahamangala Harati, offered roughly between 12:00 and 12:30 PM, just before the sanctum closes for the afternoon. In the evening the main aarti, often called Rajopachara, is performed around 5:20 to 6:00 PM for both Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi, so many pilgrims time their darshan to catch this combined worship of Shiva and Shakti.
The day ends with the Pavalimpu or Ekanta Seva, the ceremonial putting-to-rest of the deities, performed at night before the temple shuts. Homams such as Rudra Homam and Chandi Homam run on a fixed morning roster. All of these times shift on festival days and during Karthika Masam, when additional sevas and longer queues push the schedule later.
