| Mode | Point | Distance | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train | Junagadh Junction railway station | approx 5 to 6 km | Best rail option, on the Rajkot to Veraval line; autos and cabs run to Bhavnath in 15 to 20 minutes. |
| Air | Rajkot Airport / Porbandar Airport | approx 103 km / approx 102 km | Rajkot has more connections; the new Rajkot international airport (Hirasar) is a further option. Taxi or bus onward to Junagadh. |
| Road | Junagadh city / ST bus stand | approx 4 to 6 km | Frequent city buses, autos and shared jeeps to Girnar Taleti; Rajkot is about 100 km by NH27. |
The useful mental model is that Bhavnath is not a standalone destination but the doorstep of Girnar. Everything that gets you to the Girnar ropeway or the step-climb base also drops you at Bhavnath, because they share the same taleti. From Junagadh Junction, the roughly 5 to 6 km ride by auto or cab is short and cheap, and shared vehicles run this route constantly during pilgrimage season.
For those flying in, Rajkot (about 103 km) is the practical airport, with the newer Hirasar international airport near Rajkot expanding options; Porbandar (about 102 km) is an alternative but less connected. From either, it is a road transfer of two to three hours to Junagadh, then the short local hop to the taleti. By road, NH27 links Rajkot and Junagadh, and Junagadh's ST bus stand has frequent services from across Saurashtra.
Inside Junagadh, city buses, autos and shared jeeps all serve Girnar Taleti, so you rarely need to pre-arrange transport. During the Maha Shivratri mela, traffic is heavily managed and parking is pushed back from the temple, so expect to walk the final stretch and allow extra time.
