Bhavnath runs on a single-block schedule rather than the split morning-and-evening darshan you find at bigger shrines. The gates open around 6:30 AM and stay open continuously until about 9:00 PM, so unlike many Gujarat temples there is no long midday closure to plan around. Plan to arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes before closing on regular nights, since the priests wind down the last offerings before 9:00 PM.
The one calendar exception rewrites everything. Across the five-day Maha Shivratri mela the temple abandons fixed hours entirely and stays open 24 hours a day. Darshan becomes a slow, round-the-clock river of devotees, and the single fixed moment is the midnight mahapuja on the main night, when the sanctum worship coincides with the Naga sadhu procession outside. If you want an unhurried lingam darshan during the mela, the small hours after the midnight rituals are calmer than the evening crush.
