Pavagadh Mahakali Temple (Kalika Mata, Pavagadh): Nearby Temples & Tirths

Pavagadh Mahakali: Nearby Temples & TirthsPavagadh Mahakali sits within reach of Dakor Ranchhodrai Temple, Bahucharaji Temple, Modhera Sun Temple, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Pavagadh pairs naturally with a heritage-and-pilgrimage circuit through central Gujarat. Right at its feet lies the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose Jama Masjid, stepwells, palaces and Jain temples reward a half-day of exploring before or after the darshan. Within easy driving range, Dakor (about 45 km) draws Vaishnavas to the Ranchhodrai temple of Krishna, making it the most convenient add-on to a Pavagadh trip.

For those extending the pilgrimage, Bahucharaji (about 110 km) is another of Gujarat's important goddess shrines, dedicated to Bahuchara Mata, while the exquisite 11th-century Modhera Sun Temple (about 140 km) offers a Solanki-era architectural detour to the north. Devotees on a longer Shakti-focused route often tie Pavagadh together with Ambaji in the far north of the state. Because roads radiate through Vadodara and Ahmedabad, most travellers use one of those cities as a hub and spoke out to these sites over two or three days.
