| Mode | Point | Distance | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| By road | Ahmedabad | approx 110 to 125 km | About 2.5 to 3 hours on NH48. Frequent GSRTC state buses and private coaches toward Shamlaji, Himmatnagar and Udaipur stop here. |
| By road | Modasa / Bhiloda | approx 29 km / 20 km | Nearest towns for local buses, shared jeeps and taxis. |
| By train | Shamlaji Road railway station | approx 14 km | Small station on the Ahmedabad-Udaipur line; limited stops. Auto or taxi onward to the temple. |
| By train | Himmatnagar Junction | approx 51 to 56 km | Better-connected railhead with more trains; taxis and buses run to Shamlaji in about an hour. |
| By air | Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad | approx 124 km | Nearest airport. Hire a cab or take a bus via Himmatnagar. |
The temple's saving grace is the highway. Shamlaji sits directly on the Ahmedabad-Udaipur trunk route (old NH8, now NH48), so almost any bus running toward Himmatnagar, Shamlaji or Udaipur will drop you at or near the complex. State GSRTC buses and private sleeper coaches use this corridor constantly, which makes the town far easier to reach by road than its remote hill setting suggests.
Rail is the weaker link. Shamlaji Road station, about 14 km out, sits on the Ahmedabad-Udaipur line but sees only limited services, so most rail pilgrims route through Himmatnagar Junction, roughly 51 to 56 km away, and finish by cab or bus. There is no airport anywhere close; Ahmedabad, about 124 km south, is the practical air gateway. A common and comfortable plan is to fly or train into Ahmedabad, then hire a car for the day, since the same trip can fold in Modasa, Bhiloda and the roadside dhabas along the way.
