| Road, city | Chotila town | approx 39 km | Chotila sits on the Rajkot to Ahmedabad NH-27 highway; frequent buses and taxis, then a side road to Tarnetar. |
| Road, bus | Surendranagar / Thangadh GSRTC | state buses | Government buses run to Tarnetar from Surendranagar and Thangadh; service multiplies sharply during the mela. |
Getting to Tarnetar is a last-mile story. No express train stops in the village and no flight lands nearby; the trick is choosing the right jumping-off town. Rail travellers should aim for Thangadh, the closest station at roughly 8 km, or the better-connected Than Junction about 15 km out, then finish by auto-rickshaw or shared jeep. Fliers land at Rajkot, around 75 to 90 km east, and drive in; those coming internationally usually route through Ahmedabad, about 200 km away, and make it a two to three hour road leg.
By road, the natural anchor is Chotila on national highway NH-27, the Rajkot to Ahmedabad artery, about 39 km from the temple. From Chotila a quieter district road peels off towards Thangadh and Tarnetar. Gujarat state (GSRTC) buses run to Tarnetar from Surendranagar and Thangadh, and during the mela the government floods the route with extra buses and special services, so the village that is hard to reach in April becomes very easy to reach in Bhadarva. A private taxi from Rajkot is the most comfortable option for a non-fair visit.
