Tarnetar pairs naturally with the other sacred stops of Saurashtra. The closest is Chotila, about 39 km away on the highway, where the Chamunda Mata shrine crowns a steep hill reached by a long flight of stone steps, a favourite quick halt for anyone driving the Rajkot to Ahmedabad road. It makes an easy same-day add-on to a Tarnetar darshan.
Further out, the Shaiva thread continues at Bhavnath Mahadev in the Girnar foothills near Junagadh, roughly 130 km south, whose own Shivratri mela of ash-smeared naga sadhus rivals Tarnetar for atmosphere. For a change of mood, the Jalaram Bapa temple at Virpur, about 75 km away, is one of Gujarat's most beloved shrines precisely because it refuses all donations and instead feeds every visitor. A well-planned Saurashtra circuit can string Tarnetar together with Chotila, Virpur, and, with more days, Junagadh-Girnar and Somnath on the coast.
