Chintpurni does not run on the neat multi-session pattern of many south and west Indian temples. Instead it keeps a long single stretch of darshan, opening very early in the pre-dawn dark, around 4:00 AM in the summer months and closer to 5:00 AM in winter, and staying open late into the night, roughly 11:00 PM in summer and 10:00 PM in winter. The one interruption in the day is a short midday break when the sanctum may close briefly for the goddess's bhog, bath and shringar.
Crucially, there is no seasonal or Chaturmas shutdown here; the shrine functions every day of the year. What changes is the crowd and, with it, the effective waiting time. On an ordinary weekday morning you can be in and out in minutes; during Navratri or the Shravan Ashtami mela the same darshan can take hours as the queue is broken into managed phases.
Because the exact opening and closing minutes are not published to the minute on a source I could verify, treat every time here as approximate and check locally on the day. If you are travelling far, aim for an early morning arrival: the light is soft on the foothills, the queue is shortest, and you avoid both the midday break and the evening rush toward aarti.
