Kukke Subramanya works on a two-session day rather than a single stretch. The sanctum opens in the pre-dawn dark, roughly 5:00 AM, when the Suprabhata and the first abhishekas are done and the serpent-lord is dressed for the day. Morning is the busiest and most auspicious window, and it is also when the two rituals people travel for, Ashlesha Bali (on Ashlesha nakshatra days) and the pre-booked Sarpa Samskara, are performed. The morning session builds to the Maha Pooja around 1:00 PM, after which the doors close for a long afternoon rest.
The temple reopens in the late afternoon, approximately 3:00 to 4:00 PM, for evening darshan and sevas, winding down with the Ratri (night) Pooja around 7:45 to 8:00 PM before the final closing.
