The single most important thing to plan around at Kollur is the midday closure. The sanctum opens early, around 5:00 AM, with the Nirmalya darshan when the previous days flowers are removed and the goddess is seen bare, and it runs continuously through the forenoon until the noon Maha Pooja at roughly half past twelve. After the naivedya is offered the doors shut, typically until about 3:00 PM, so a pilgrim who arrives at one oclock will simply wait outside for the better part of two hours.

The evening session then runs until roughly 9:00 PM, closing after the night Rangapooja. For a relaxed darshan aim to be in the queue by 8:00 to 9:00 AM or in the late afternoon. During Navaratri the whole rhythm stretches, timings are extended and entry is often managed in slots to handle the crowds, so the ordinary clock does not apply. All the times given here are approximate and drift with the ritual calendar; the safest move is to confirm that days schedule at the seva counter or through your lodge the previous evening.
