The devotional day begins before dawn with the Kakad Aarti around 4:30 to 5:00 AM, when the deity is ceremonially woken. Through the morning priests perform abhishek and the sanctum is open for hands-on worship, one of Bhimashankar's draws, with devotees offering water and bel-patra to the linga.
A midday naivedya puja briefly closes the sanctum around noon, followed by an afternoon worship and shringar block in the 2:45 to 3:20 PM window. The evening aarti near 7:30 PM is the emotional high point of the day and the most attended, before the shej aarti puts the deity to rest and the temple closes.
These are the normal-day rhythms. On Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri the sequence swells with special palkhi processions and continuous abhishek, while during the current restoration the whole cycle may be squeezed into the shortened morning window. Ask a temple priest on arrival which aartis you can still catch that day.
