Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple: Where to Stay

Most pilgrims base themselves in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), which has the widest range of hotels, roughly 30 km away, and drive out to Verul for darshan. Right at the temple there are dharamshalas, bhakta niwas rooms, and modest guest houses in and around Verul and near the Ellora caves, convenient for early-morning aarti. During Shravan and Maha Shivratri rooms fill fast, so book well ahead.

The default and most comfortable base is Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), about 30 km away, which offers the full spread from budget lodges to business hotels and makes an easy hub for the caves, the temple, and onward trips to Shirdi or Ajanta. Most tour itineraries stay in the city and drive out to Verul for darshan.

For those who want to be at the temple for the pre-dawn aarti, Verul and the Ellora area have dharamshalas, bhakta niwas rooms, and simple guest houses close to the shrine. These are basic but convenient, putting you a short walk from the sanctum. The one caution is timing: during Shravan and around Maha Shivratri, rooms both in the city and near the temple book out quickly, so reserve well in advance if your visit falls in those peaks.
