The daily worship at Trimbakeshwar runs in three main sittings. The day opens with the Kakad (morning) aarti around 5:30 AM, followed by the Brahma puja and Rudrabhishek period from about 7:00 to 8:30 AM, when the linga is bathed and dressed. A Madhyan (midday) puja follows around 10:45 AM to 12:30 PM, and the day closes with the Sandhya (evening) aarti and puja from roughly 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
Two things make the schedule here special. First, on Mondays a jewelled crown, traditionally said to belong to the Pandava era and set with precious stones, is placed on the deity and taken out in an afternoon palkhi procession, a sight worth timing your visit around. Second, the sanctum is genuinely closed to lay devotees while each puja is performed, so the aarti times double as the windows when you should not expect to reach the front of the queue. All times shift on festival days and are best reconfirmed locally.
