Pandharpur does not really open and close so much as it wakes and sleeps. The deity is roused at the 4:00 AM Kakad Aarti and put to bed after the Shej Aarti around midnight, and between those two points the doors stay open to a moving river of devotees. Public darshan is only screened off during the five nitya rituals through the day, each lasting a few minutes to an hour, after which the queue surges forward again.

On an ordinary weekday the Pad-sparsh line, the one that ends at the deity's feet, typically takes one to three hours depending on the hour; early morning just after Kakad Aarti and late evening are the thinner windows. During Ashadhi and Kartiki Ekadashi the temple runs 24 hours, feet-touching is suspended, and only fast-moving Mukh darshan is offered because waits otherwise stretch past ten hours.

Because exact ritual minutes drift with the lunar calendar and season, treat every published time as approximate and reconfirm on the official Shri Vitthal Rukmini Mandir Samiti site. Booking a Mukh-darshan pass online is the single best way to shorten your wait on a busy day.
