Unlike a typical temple with one long open door, Govind Dev Ji works on the jhanki system: the deity is revealed only for seven short windows through the day, and a curtain covers the sanctum between them. The first, Mangla, happens before dawn around 5:00 AM and is the most atmospheric, with a smaller, devoted crowd and cool morning air in the open hall. The morning then moves through Dhoop, the Shringar jhanki when the deity is freshly dressed and adorned, and Rajbhog, the main midday offering, after which the temple effectively closes.
