Worship at Karni Mata centres on two daily aartis. The Mangla Aarti is performed in the early morning at or just after opening, when priests present the first bhog to the goddess; this is the moment many pilgrims aim for, both for its calm and because the kabas emerge in numbers to feed on the offered milk and grain. The evening Sandhya Aarti closes the day as oil lamps are lit around the pillared courtyard.
Between the two, bhog is offered through the day, and the large communal milk and prasad bowls are where you will see the temple's most famous sight: dozens of rats drinking together while devotees look on. Eating the food they have nibbled is not something to avoid here; that juthan is treated as sanctified and is taken as prasad.
