Gadhada (Gadhpur) Swaminarayan Temple: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Gadhada: Nearby Temples & TirthsGadhada sits within reach of Salangpur Hanuman (Kashtabhanjan Dev), Vadtal Swaminarayan Temple, Palitana Shatrunjaya, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Gadhada anchors a rich Saurashtra pilgrim loop. The natural pairing is Salangpur, about 45 to 50 km away, where the Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanuman temple draws enormous crowds and has recently added a towering Hanuman statue; the two Swaminarayan sites are often done on the same trip. Vadtal, roughly 120 km off, completes the picture as the nine-domed Laxminarayan Dev headquarters and, like Gadhada, one of the six mandirs Swaminarayan personally established.

On the Bhavnagar side, the Jain hill of Palitana Shatrunjaya, around 100 km away, is one of the most sacred tirths in India, its ridge crowded with hundreds of marble temples reached by a long stone stairway. It makes a natural second day for pilgrims willing to start before dawn.

Beyond these, travellers with more time thread Gadhada into longer Gujarat itineraries reaching toward Somnath, Girnar and Dwarka further west. For a focused Swaminarayan-and-Saurashtra weekend, though, the Gadhada, Salangpur and Palitana triangle is the classic combination.
