Somnath Temple: Aarti & Puja Schedule

Somnath: Aarti & Puja ScheduleThree aartis are performed daily.
  • Morning (Prabhat) Aarti7:00 AM
  • Noon (Madhyahna) Aarti12:00 PM
  • Evening (Sandhya) Aarti7:00 PM

Somnath keeps three aartis a day, a lighter schedule than some larger complexes but each one distinct in mood. The 7 AM Prabhat aarti is intimate, attended mostly by early risers and staying pilgrims, with the priests waking the deity as the sea light comes up. The noon aarti is the quietest of the three.

The 7 PM Sandhya aarti is the one to plan your day around. The hall fills, the bells and conch carry out over the seafront, and the energy is unlike the daytime hours. Because it leads straight into the light and sound show, many visitors treat the two as a single evening experience.

For those who cannot be present, the Shree Somnath Trust runs a live darshan stream of the shrine and its aartis on its official website, a facility that saw heavy use during pandemic closures and remains popular with the diaspora.
