Vadtal Swaminarayan Temple: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Vadtal Swaminarayan: Nearby Temples & TirthsVadtal Swaminarayan sits within reach of Dakor Ranchhodrai Temple, Salangpur Kashtabhanjan Hanuman, Gadhada Swaminarayan Temple, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Vadtal sits in one of Gujarat's densest clusters of pilgrimage sites, so it pairs naturally into a longer circuit. The most obvious companion is Dakor, about 30 km away, whose Ranchhodrai temple is another great Krishna shrine famous for its own enormous Purnima gatherings; Vadtal and Dakor make a comfortable single-day devotional pairing.

For those following the Swaminarayan thread, Salangpur is essential: the Kashtabhanjan Hanuman temple there, roughly 100 km southwest, is administered by the very Vadtal Gadi you are standing in, and is one of the most powerful Hanuman shrines in the state. Deeper into Saurashtra lies Gadhada, about 120 km away, where Swaminarayan spent much of his later life and where the sect's principal scripture, the Vachanamrut, was compiled. Together these three, plus Dakor, let a pilgrim trace both the Krishna-bhakti and the Swaminarayan roots of the region in one unhurried trip of two or three days.
