The natural gateway is the Punjab side. From Chandigarh, the nearest airport and major railhead about 100 to 110 km away, the road runs through Kiratpur Sahib and Anandpur Sahib before climbing the hairpins to Naina Devi town. Anandpur Sahib, roughly 20 to 25 km from the base, is the closest railway station and the most convenient place to pick up a bus or shared taxi for the final ascent.

From the Himachal side, Bilaspur town lies about 60 to 70 km away along the Gobind Sagar shore, a scenic but longer approach. Whichever road you take, the last leg is the same: reach the base town, then finish on foot up the stall-lined concrete steps or ride the ropeway to the top. Drivers should expect tight bends and heavy festival traffic, so allow extra time on mela days and park in the designated lots below.
