Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, Mysore: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Sri Chamundeshwari: Nearby Temples & TirthsSri Chamundeshwari sits within reach of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Kukke Subramanya, Sri Manjunatha, Dharmasthala, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Chamundeshwari sits at the head of Karnataka's temple trail, and a devout traveller can chain it into the state's great Malnad and coastal shrines, though none are next door. West lies Sringeri Sharada Peetham, about 230 km away, the first of Adi Shankara's four mathas, where the goddess of learning sits on the banks of the Tunga. In the same broad direction is Kukke Subramanya, roughly 230 km out, the serpent-god shrine famous for Sarpa Samskara and Ashlesha Bali rituals to relieve serpent-related doshas.

Dharmasthala, again around 230 km, adds a very different flavour: a celebrated Shiva kshetra run on the principle of dharma, known for its scale of free meals and its unusual administration. Pilgrims with more time often continue to Udupi and Kollur Mookambika on the coast. From a Mysuru base, these are overnight or multi-day extensions rather than day trips, so plan the loop with realistic driving time rather than expecting to pair them with a single morning darshan.
