The gateway to Ujjain is Indore, about 55 km south, whose Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is the nearest airport with regular flights. From the airport, a taxi to Ujjain takes roughly 1.5 hours on NH52, and MP state and private buses run the route through the day. Many pilgrims simply base a trip on Indore and make Ujjain a day or overnight run.

By rail, Ujjain Junction (UJN) is the convenient option, only about 2 km from the temple, so an auto or e-rickshaw covers the last stretch in about ten minutes. It is a well-connected junction with trains from across Madhya Pradesh and beyond. Once in the old city, the temple is genuinely walkable from most central stays, but be warned that the surrounding lanes tighten dramatically on Shravan Mondays and festival days, when vehicle access near the temple is often restricted and walking becomes the only realistic approach.
