Khatu runs on a two-shift clock built around the deity's day. In summer the doors open near 4:30 AM for Mangala Aarti and general darshan flows from about 5:00 AM until roughly 12:30 PM; in winter everything slides later, opening around 5:30 AM with the morning session closing near 1:00 PM. The afternoon break is not a formality but a ritual pause when Shyam Baba is bathed, re-dressed, and rested, so the sanctum genuinely shuts for a few hours before the evening darshan resumes around 4:00 PM in summer or 5:00 PM in winter.

The rhythm bends sharply on Ekadashi and during the Phalgun Mela. On those days the midday closure is often waived and hours stretch late into the night to move the crowds. Because the committee adjusts the exact clock times by season and by festival, treat every timing here as approximate and verify on the temple's own channels before you set out, particularly if you are travelling long distance to catch a specific aarti.
