Kamakshi Amman Temple, Kanchipuram: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Kamakshi Amman: Nearby Temples & TirthsKamakshi Amman sits within reach of Tirupati Balaji (Venkateswara), Srikalahasti, Meenakshi Amman, Madurai, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Kanchipuram itself is the City of a Thousand Temples, so most visitors pair Kamakshi Amman with the town's great Shiva and Vishnu shrines before looking further afield. For a wider circuit, the most natural onward leg is north into Andhra Pradesh.

Tirupati Balaji, the immense Venkateswara hill-shrine, lies roughly 75 km away and is the busiest pilgrimage in the country; many devotees do Kanchipuram and Tirupati together. Nearby Srikalahasti (approx 110 km), the Vayu-element Shiva temple known for its Rahu-Ketu remedial pujas, rounds out that side of the trip.

For a Goddess-focused pilgrimage, Meenakshi Amman at Madurai is the obvious spiritual counterpart, though it is a long haul south (approx 440 km) and deserves its own days rather than a rushed add-on. Choose based on whether your journey leans toward Venkateswara in the north or the deep Tamil Devi temples in the south.
