How to reach Meenakshi Amman Temple
The temple sits in the dense heart of old Madurai, ringed by the Chitrai, Avani Moola and Masi streets, so the last stretch is almost always on foot through a market bazaar. Madurai is itself the regional hub, so most pilgrims arrive directly into the city rather than transferring from a bigger one.

Best time to visit & festivals
The comfortable window is October to March, when Madurai's heat eases and darshan queues are manageable. Summer (April to June) is fierce but coincides with the temple's grandest festival, so many pilgrims brave the heat for it.
