How to reach Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam
Srirangam sits on an island in the Kaveri just north of Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), so almost every route runs through Trichy first. The town is compact and the temple's outer gopurams are visible from a distance, which makes the last leg easy.

Dress code & temple rules
Traditional, modest dress is expected. Men typically wear dhoti or full-length trousers with a shirt; many remove the upper cloth or shirt near the sanctum as is custom.
Women wear saree, half-saree or salwar kameez. Short skirts, shorts, sleeveless tops and revealing clothing are discouraged.
Footwear must be left outside; the walk across stone can be hot at midday, so socks help.
Leather items are best avoided inside the shrine. Photography is restricted in the inner enclosures, so follow the posted signs and staff instructions.
Non-Hindus are welcomed into most of the complex but are traditionally not permitted into the innermost sanctum; look for the marked point beyond which entry is limited.
