Nine pooja kalams structure the day at Tiruchendur, but three abhishekams anchor it: the Udaya Marthanda around 6:15 AM, the Uchikala near 10:30 AM, and the Arthasama around 7:15 PM. During abhishekam the utsava or mula murti is bathed and the crowd presses forward, so arrive a little before the stated time to get a clear line of sight. The dawn Viswaroopa darshan at roughly 5:30 AM and the Dwajasthamba namaskaram just after are the quietest, most contemplative moments of the schedule.

The day closes with a graceful sequence rather than an abrupt lock-up: Sayaratchai pooja near 5:00 PM, the night abhishekam, then Ekanda Seva, the Ragasia deeparadhanai and Palliarai pooja from around 8:30 PM before the doors are secured near 9:00 PM. Paid archana and abhishekam tickets let you sponsor a ritual in your name. All timings are approx and are officially adjusted on eclipse days, so check the current sheet at the temple office.
