The daily rhythm at Kashi Vishwanath is built around the deity's own day, not around visitor convenience. The gates open at 2:30 AM for the pre-dawn Mangala Aarti, then general darshan flows from roughly 4:00 AM through the morning. The single predictable interruption is the midday Bhog Aarti, when the sanctum closes for about an hour (roughly 11:15/11:30 AM to 12:20 PM); if you arrive at 11:30 AM you will wait, so aim for before 11 or after 12:30.
The afternoon is generally the calmest darshan window, from about noon to early evening, before the sanctum tightens again for the 7 PM Sapt Rishi Aarti. The temple stays open late, closing only after Shayan Aarti at 11 PM. Because the sanctum is periodically shut to the public for each of the five aartis, there is no single all-day open block; plan your slot around the aarti clock. On Maha Shivratri, Sawan Mondays and Dev Deepawali the timetable is rewritten and the temple may run near-continuous darshan, so treat published hours as a normal-day guide only and reconfirm on the official portal.
