The single best window depends on what you want. For comfort, the cooler months from October to March make both the ropeway and the trek pleasant, with clear views over the Ganga plain. For atmosphere and sheer devotional charge, come during either Navratri, the spring Chaitra one (March to April) or the autumn Sharad one (September to October), when Mansa Devi runs at full tilt and the queues stretch down the hill.
The town's larger festival calendar spills onto the shrine too.
