Unlike temples with a fixed nine-to-five darshan, Jagannath Temple runs on the deities' daily routine of niti, so the sanctum opens and closes in windows around each ritual. Doors open near 5:00 AM for Dwarapitha and Mangala Aarti; the public is let in only after that first waking, from roughly 6:30 to 7:00 AM. Through the morning, darshan is granted first from the inner Jagamohana and then from the outer Nata Mandir as offerings progress toward the Sakala Dhupa.
The temple closes briefly around midday after the Madhyanha Dhupa, then reopens near 2:00 PM for the calmer afternoon darshan, generally the easiest window to reach the ratna vedi without heavy crowds. Evening brings the Sandhya Aarti around 7:00 to 8:00 PM, and the final glimpse comes near the Badasinghar dressing before Ratri Pahuda around 11:00 PM.
