By train, Ayodhya Dham Junction sits about 2 km from the mandir; it is the fully redeveloped station formerly called Ayodhya Junction, and e-rickshaws and autos shuttle pilgrims to the gate, an easy walk for those travelling light. Ayodhya Cantt (Faizabad) is a secondary railhead a few kilometres further out.
By air, the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport at Ayodhya Dham is roughly 10 km away, with direct services from cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad; prepaid taxis and autos handle the transfer. If flights are tight, Lucknow's airport is the bigger fallback, about 135 km by road. That Lucknow to Ayodhya drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours via NH-27 and NH-330 through Barabanki, and is the standard road approach for pilgrims combining the two cities.
