Ram Mandir, Ayodhya: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Ram Mandir: Nearby Temples & TirthsRam Mandir sits within reach of Kashi Vishwanath, Varanasi, Sankat Mochan Hanuman, Varanasi, Vindhyavasini Devi, Mirzapur, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Ayodhya itself rewards a fuller circuit before you leave town: Hanuman Garhi, the hilltop Hanuman temple climbed by dozens of steps, is the traditional first stop before Ram darshan, and Kanak Bhawan and the Saryu ghats round out a local day. This spoke, though, points to the wider Uttar Pradesh circuit most pilgrims stitch on.

The natural onward leg is Varanasi, about 200 km southeast, where Kashi Vishwanath (a Shiva Jyotirlinga on the Ganga) and the Tulsidas-founded Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple anchor a two or three day extension. Further along, Vindhyavasini Devi at Mirzapur, a revered Shakti shrine roughly 260 km away, folds neatly into the same Varanasi trip. Together they turn a single Ayodhya darshan into a classic eastern-UP pilgrimage triangle.
