Tirumala is unusual among major temples in that it barely sleeps. The doors open around 2:30 AM with Suprabhatam and the Lord is put to rest around 1:00 AM the next morning with Ekanta Seva, leaving only a short overnight gap. There is no long midday break and no seasonal shutdown, so in principle you can have darshan at almost any hour. What actually decides your day is the queue, not the door. Free Sarva Darshan can mean a two to three hour wait on a quiet weekday and twelve hours or more on a festival weekend, all spent moving through the compartmentalised waiting halls (Vaikuntam Queue Complex) where you are given a slotted time and can rest.

The rhythm shifts by day of the week. On Wednesdays and Fridays more paid Arjitha sevas are performed in the morning, so free Sarva Darshan often begins later, around 9 AM, rather than in the small hours. On Brahmotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadasi and Rathasapthami the schedule is rewritten entirely: hours stretch, some sevas are suspended to move the crowd, and darshan can run past 1:30 AM. Because TTD revises this often, treat every time here as approximate and check the official live schedule the day before you go.
