Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga: Timings & Darshan Hours

Omkareshwar: Timings & Darshan HoursOmkareshwar is generally open 5:00 AM to 12:20 PM, 1:15 PM to 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The temple does not close for a season, but the queue pauses twice a day: roughly 12:20 PM to 1:15 PM for Madhyanha Bhog (midday offering) and 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM for Sayamkalin Shringar (evening adornment).

Omkareshwar keeps a long single day rather than a seasonal calendar: the sanctum opens around 4:30 AM for the Mangal Aarti and Bhog, and darshan flows from about 5:00 AM. The rhythm is broken twice. From roughly 12:20 PM to 1:15 PM the deity is served the Madhyanha Bhog (midday meal) and the queue halts; again from about 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM the linga is dressed for the evening in the Sayamkalin Shringar. Between those pauses the temple stays open continuously into the night.

If you want an unhurried darshan, the 5:00 to 7:00 AM window on a weekday is the quietest, before tour groups and day-trippers from Indore arrive. Evenings are atmospheric but busier. On Mondays, during Shravan and on Mahashivratri, treat every posted time as approximate and add hours for the queue; the temple administration extends and reshuffles slots on those days. Because private booking sites quote slightly different figures, cross-check the current schedule on the official Shri Omkareshwar site or at the counter the day you arrive.
