Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga: Nearby Temples & Tirths

Omkareshwar: Nearby Temples & TirthsOmkareshwar sits within reach of Mahakaleshwar, Ujjain, Grishneshwar, Ellora, Trimbakeshwar, Nashik, so most pilgrims combine them into one trip.

Omkareshwar is most naturally paired with Mahakaleshwar at Ujjain, roughly 140 km north, the other Jyotirlinga in Madhya Pradesh and famous for its pre-dawn Bhasma Aarti. Many pilgrims do the two back to back over a couple of days, often via Indore. Locally, remember that the pilgrimage itself is twinned: the island shrine of Omkareshwar and the mainland Mamleshwar are both worshipped as the Jyotirlinga, so a full visit covers both banks.

For those on a longer Jyotirlinga yatra, the western cluster in Maharashtra follows on: Grishneshwar beside the Ellora caves (approx 380 km) and Trimbakeshwar near Nashik at the source of the Godavari (approx 350 km) are common continuations. These are day-long journeys, not side trips, so build them into a route rather than a single stop.
