Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga: Where to Stay

Most pilgrims stay in Omkareshwar town near the boat ghat and bridge. Temple-linked accommodation is limited to Shri Ji Vishramalaya (book roughly 15 days ahead), so plan around ashrams and dharamshalas such as Gita Bhavan, plus trust guest houses and budget-to-mid-range hotels. During Shravan, Mahashivratri and fair days, rooms fill fast; book 2 to 4 weeks in advance. Indore, about 77 km away, offers full-service hotels if you prefer to base there and day-trip.

Accommodation clusters in Omkareshwar town on the mainland side, close to the boat ghat and the bridge to the island. Temple-run lodging is limited: the main option tied to the shrine is Shri Ji Vishramalaya, which should be booked around 15 days ahead. Beyond that, the town runs on ashrams and dharamshalas, of which Gita Bhavan is one of the more organised, offering clean rooms near the ghat, along with trust guest houses and budget-to-mid-range hotels.

Rates are modest on ordinary days, but during Shravan, Mahashivratri, Kartik Purnima and local fairs the town books out; reserve two to four weeks in advance and expect standard rules and prices to shift. Pilgrims who prefer more comfort or a wider choice often base themselves in Indore, about 77 km away, and make Omkareshwar a full-day trip, sometimes combined with Mahakaleshwar at Ujjain.
