Girnar Temples (Girnar Parvat): Aarti & Puja Schedule

Girnar: Aarti & Puja ScheduleGirnar is a cluster of independent shrines across several peaks rather than one managed temple, so there is no single official aarti timetable and individual timings shift with the season and the Hindu calendar.
  • Hill opens, first pilgrims begin the ascent~5:00 AM
  • Ropeway service to Ambaji begins~8:00 AM
  • Morning puja and aarti, Amba Mata templemorning, approx.
  • Guru Dattatreya darshan at the summit~8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Evening aarti at Bhavnath Mahadev, Taleti base~7:00 PM (approx.)

Girnar is not a single managed temple with one aarti bell; it is a scattered congregation of shrines belonging to different faiths and sects spread across five peaks, so there is no unified, published aarti timetable. The Jain temples at the first tonk follow Svetambar and Digambar puja customs, the Amba Mata shrine follows Shakta ritual, the Gorakhnath dhuni is tended in the Nath yogic tradition, and the Dattatreya shrine at the very top keeps its own quiet rhythm around the sage's sacred footprints.

For most Hindu pilgrims the emotional centre of the aarti experience is actually at the base, at Bhavnath Mahadev temple in Taleti, where the evening aarti draws crowds and, during the Mahashivratri Bhavnath Mela, becomes a spectacle of sadhus, akhadas and the midnight Mahapuja. On the mountain itself, the Amba Mata temple holds morning and evening puja, and pilgrims typically take darshan whenever they reach each summit rather than to a fixed clock.

Because exact times move with the season and the Hindu calendar, treat any schedule as indicative and confirm on the day. If a specific aarti matters to you, ask at the shrine or the local trust the evening before, and plan your climb so you reach that peak within its darshan window and can still descend safely before dark.
