Jain ritual at Dilwara centres on the morning, before the tourist gates open. Worshippers begin with prakshal and abhishek, the ceremonial bathing and anointing of the Tirthankara idols, followed by snatra puja and the ashtaprakari puja in which eight symbolic offerings, from water and sandal to rice and lamp, are made. This is why a wash or bath is expected of Jains before entry and why bathing facilities sit within the complex.

There is no loud, bell-heavy aarti in the Hindu sense here; Jain worship is quieter and more contemplative, and the day winds down with an evening aarti and darshan before the 6:00 PM close. The complex does not publish rigid clock times for each ritual, so the schedule here is indicative and approx. If you specifically want to witness ritual rather than only the architecture, come as close to noon as possible, at the tail of the worship period.
