Dilwara Jain Temples, Mount Abu: Timings & Darshan Hours

The single thing that catches most travellers off guard at Dilwara is the clock. Unlike a typical temple you cannot walk in at dawn as a sightseer. The morning hours, roughly from 6:00 AM, belong to Jain worshippers performing prakshal, abhishek and the eight-fold ashtaprakari puja on the marble idols. General visitors and non-Jains are admitted only from 12:00 noon, and the doors close around 6:00 PM.

That afternoon window is fixed year round, with no midday break and no seasonal shutdown. Because the exact minutes are not centrally published and are managed on the ground by the trust, treat the times as approx and build in a buffer. Practically, plan to be at the gate between noon and roughly 4:30 to 5:00 PM. Come too late and you risk the last-entry cutoff; come at 12:00 sharp and you get the quietest, best-lit hour before the tour groups arrive.
