How to reach Eklingji Temple
Eklingji sits on the Udaipur to Nathdwara highway (NH-48), an easy half-day trip from the city and usually clubbed with Nathdwara's Shrinathji temple. There is no rail or air link at the village itself, so everything routes through Udaipur.

Dress code & temple rules
Dress modestly: covered shoulders and legs; avoid shorts, short skirts and sleeveless tops in the sanctum area
Remove footwear and all leather items before entering the temple complex
Photography and videography are strictly banned inside; phones, cameras and bags are deposited at the entrance counter
Maintain silence and queue discipline in the inner sanctum, which can get crowded in the short darshan windows
The site is managed by the Mewar royal trust; follow priests' and staff instructions, especially when the Maharana's family visits on Mondays

Best time to visit & festivals
October to March is the comfortable window, with cool Rajasthan days ideal for pairing Eklingji, Nagda and Nathdwara. Mondays carry special weight as Shiva's day, and the temple is at its most electric on the great Shaiva festivals.

Where to stay
Most pilgrims base themselves in Udaipur (22 km), which has the full range from lakeside heritage hotels and havelis near Lake Pichola to budget guesthouses around the City Palace and bus stand. For an early-morning darshan, a few basic lodges and dharamshala-style rooms exist at Kailashpuri and nearby Nathdwara, where temple-town accommodation is plentiful and cheap. Serious devotees often stay overnight at Nathdwara and cover Eklingji, Nagda and Shrinathji together at dawn.
